IBM Nanotech Centre
The IBM Nanotechnology Research Centre in Zurich was planned and built using Schöck Combar®.
The clean room is the heart of the building, measuring nearly 900 square metres and equipped with more than 50 instruments. Since even the tiniest vibrations and oscillations must be avoided when performing experiments, the test rooms accommodate concrete slabs mounted on special vibration dampers. Schöck Combar® bars were used as reinforcement as they do not conduct electricity nor generate a magnetic field and thus permit the experiments to be performed without external influences.
